I’m not a huge sushi fan. I’ll get a couple rolls for lunch maybe every 2 months as a treat to my palate. After experiencing Blue Fin for the third time a few weeks ago, I now understand why people become addicted to the stuff.

I’ve eaten at Morimoto, Buddakan , Genji, Hikaru, you name it. I’ve eaten some of the best sushi in the city. I think Blue Fin is better. How dare I say this? It’s easy and I’ll explain why:

Ehh, mediocre at best. OK food. Expensive prices. Just not my thing. There are so many other better restaurants in the area, pick something else.

I’ve now done both the sushi upstairs and the “Japanese Steak House” down stairs and have been impressed with both. The sushi is fresh and tasty and the steak house was entertaining with the hibachi guys cracking jokes and providing a good time. Open late when other restaurants are sometimes closing.

Pretty good Sushi. I’ve had better, I’ve had worse. The location is great because it is right in the middle of the city and if you plan on going out later, this is a good dinner spot.

Make reservations. Make them early in the evening. This former diner turns from a classy restaurant to a hopping bar after about 9:00 PM. Any later and you’ll be fighting for a table from the drinkers. The food. Great. Steven Starr’s first and what I consider his best restaurant. The wasabi mashed potatoes are simply to die for. The introduction of Continental Midtown was watered down the brand name a bit, but still good food and a good time.
