Located in the former location of Maia in Villanova, Azie on Main is another restaurant by Win Signature Restaurants.  The owners Win and Sutida Somboonsong and they also own Teikoku, Mikado Thai Pepper and Flavor on the Main Line.

We went here on a whim because my parents wanted to watch my son and we looked forward to some good sushi and a nice treat for a night out.

Overall, we had a great meal.  The service was excellent.  The waiter and staff were on top of the entire meal and it overall went very well.  The only issue was a mistake on my ordering, when I ordered something, received the wrong item and it was quickly fixed with the correct item.

Kim and I both got sushi and it was quite good.  Again, we continue to be spoiled by Blue Fin in Plymouth Meeting as the gold standard for our sushi fix.  Azie is a close second.  The fish was fresh and tasty.  We were a bit disappointed by the spice of the items labeled as “spicy”.  We really needed to kick them up a notch with wasabi to enjoy it.

We both decided on more unusual, specialty rolls as compared to the typical “tuna roll”.  Overall, the sushi was creative, fun and a nice treat from the usual.

As for an appetizer, we both enjoyed the crab and cream cheese spring roll which was usual but very tasty.

Like I said, if we can’t get into Blue Fin, we’ll go for Azie.
