What an interesting place. That’s all I can really say about it.
I went here for lunch with some co-workers and I really enjoyed it. I’m not one for breakfast in the middle of the day, but the stuffed french toast special was too yummy looking to pass up. It has cream cream cheese, strawberry mascarpone, chocolate and maybe some nuts. It was incredible. I think there was enough food to feed a small army, on my plate alone. The bread was dipped in batter, cooked then stuffed with all the goodies listed above. I was not able to finish it, but I made a honest attempt at it.
Most of my dining partners got lunch, hamburgers, chicken sandwiches. They all looked great as well. One diner got the sweet potato french fries which I tried and were certainly homemade and tasted great.
All in all, a great place for breakfast. This would be a real treat for an out-of-towner you want to impress or family. This is not somewhere to enjoy a pleasant, quiet breakfast or lunch. It’s fairly loud, very eclectic and a bit rough around the edges. The staff all seem to have tattoos of some kind. Most wear short sleeve T-Shirts to show them off. It doesn’t bother me, but it may bother others.
Next time I am in the area, I’m going to make a return trip. I might even surprise my wife with a morning train ride into the city to enjoy a great breakfast.
