I did some IT work for Chart House Restaurants a few years ago, so I know they have great food. I’m just not a huge fan. There are better views, better food and better service at other Chart House’s (Are they called Chart Homes?) Anyway, I tend to stay away. I’ve been the Chart House off Monterey and it is beutiful. I’ve also been to the one in Miami. They both are much better then the Philadelphia one. Sorry.

Probably of my favorite steaks places in the city. A bit expensive, a bit dark and somewhat WASPy for my tastes, but the food. Yum. The service has sometimes been a bit slow, especially in relation to the price and name. I once had a meal here and ordered a bottle of wine. The bottle arrived, unopened. It sat on our table, unopened for about 10 minutes before we had to ask for someone to open it. A bit strange, but it happens I guess.

My second favorite “Steven Starr” restaurant. Great food, great atmosphere and generally incredible food. A little rich for my blood but always a nice treat for a special dinner out. The desserts are fantastic.

The lesser known of Georges Perrier’s restaurants where the drinks are expensive, the food is pricey and the clientele is, well, rich. A nice treat to impress someone or to just ‘take it all in’. A little much for me. The funny thing is, it’s cheaper then Le Bec Fin for pretty much the same food.

This is an old standby for a great Italian meal if I don’t feel like driving into South Philly. The food has always arrived PIPING hot and I try to get a seat near the windows in the summer for a nice breeze and to watch the locals out for a walk.
